Job Title: Medical Director - Pediatric Hospitalist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Director - Pediatric Hospitalist to join our esteemed healthcare facility. As the Medical Director, you will oversee the medical services provided within our Pediatric Hospitalist department and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our young patients. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, you will play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining the standards of excellence in pediatric healthcare.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop and implement policies, protocols, and procedures for the Pediatric Hospitalist department.
2. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to physicians and other healthcare professionals within the division.
3. Oversee the delivery of comprehensive and evidence-based medical care to pediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
4. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, professional guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
5. Collaborate with other medical departments and specialties to optimize patient care outcomes and enhance interdisciplinary communication.
6. Participate actively in departmental meetings, committees, and relevant administrative tasks.
7. Foster a culture of continuous learning, research, and innovation within the Pediatric Hospitalist division.
8. Promote the highest standards of patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical practices.
9. Collaborate with hospital administration to develop and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
10. Foster positive relationships with community physicians, pediatricians, and referring specialists to foster collaboration and referrals.
11. Act as a resource for physicians, medical staff, patients, and families regarding pediatric hospitalist services.
12. Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided by the Pediatric Hospitalist division.
13. Stay updated with the latest pediatric medical advancements, research, and best practices.
14. Represent the hospital in professional conferences, seminars, and collaborations with medical institutions.
15. Adhere to medical ethics, licensure regulations, and organizational policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
2. Board certification in Pediatrics is required, preferably with subspecialty certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
3. Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
4. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in pediatric hospital medicine.
5. Proven leadership and management experience in a complex healthcare setting.
6. Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
7. Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
8. Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
9. Knowledge and experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols.
